New Jersey’s office busyness recovery led by transit hubs
- New Jersey’s transit hubs are leading the way in the recovery of in-office attendance. Morristown has reached 86.4% of pre-COVID in-person office attendance.
- The Meadowlands submarket, home to the Secaucus transit hub, and the I-24 West Corridor submarket, which houses the Summit transit hub, are lagging behind Morristown, with recoveries of 76.1% and 75.7% of their pre-COVID office attendance figures, respectively.
- Referring back to the previous data bite in this series, the first half of the workweek is showing a greater year-over-year increase in attendance within these submarkets, indicating that employees are continuing to front-load their workweeks to meet in-office requirements.
- Specifically, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday have seen increases of 32.5%, 79.1%, and 35.5%, respectively. In contrast, Thursday has experienced a 9.1% decrease, while Friday has seen a slight 5.7% increase in attendance year-over-year.
