New Jersey office busyness increases as employees frontload their work week

  • Overall office usage in New Jersey has increased year-over-year (y-o-y) by 6%.

  • Monday has seen the largest increase in activity, with a 30.1% rise in attendance y-o-y. Tuesday also experienced a notable increase of 15.2% y-o-y, while the remaining weekdays—Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday—showed slight decreases of 3%, 5.7%, and 8.1% respectively.

  • Many companies continue to require in-person attendance for at least part of the week. The aforementioned statistics suggest that employees are concentrating their workload earlier in the week to comply with this mandate.

  • By front-loading their work week, employees in New Jersey gain more flexibility as the weekend approaches. This allows, for instance, for longer trips "down the shore" over the weekend.
