Manufacturing job postings dominate the Indianapolis MSA

  • There were a total of 8,799 industrial job postings across the Indianapolis MSA in September 2024, 51% of which are within the Manufacturing sector.
     
  • Manufacturing job postings increased 25% in September 2024 while both Wholesale and Transportation & Warehousing job postings decreased slightly when compared to the year prior.  Manufacturing companies such as Eli Lilly, Ford and Takeda Pharmaceutical have posted the highest number of job openings within the Indianapolis MSA. Eli Lilly led the way with 589 job postings, driven by their significant expansion within Indianapolis to support new medicine production and enhance manufacturing capabilities.
