Manhattan law firms and media/entertainment companies are outpacing last year’s busyness

June 2024 vs. June 2023: Manhattan Busyness Index by industry and weekday

 

• According to the Avison Young Busyness Index, law firms (up 24.7%) and media/entertainment companies (up 20.5%) have seen the most significant year-over-year increase in office busyness. Finance and banking previously led the return to office in Manhattan; now, other industries are following suit.

 

• Additionally, Mondays have seen a 29.3% increase since June 2023 – signaling a shift towards firmer return-to-office policies across the city, even during the summer months.
