Long Island office visitation continues to rise despite dip in leasing activity
- Long Island offices are 77.6% as busy today as they were in Q3 2019, according to the Busyness Index. This means more employees are going into the workplace and filling the space that sat vacant post-pandemic.
- The uptick in busyness may be an indicator of future demand and leasing activity increasing, as more employees are working in person and there is a need for space to accommodate that. Also, this increase in busyness has happened despite a downturn in overall leasing activity- another positive sign highlighting the resurgence of in person work.
