Houston offices busier on Mondays as hybrid workers return
Houston’s office visitation recovery continues to outpace the national average, reaching 63.7% of the pre-pandemic levels from 2019 according to Avison Young’s Busyness Index.
The office visitation recovery has been most evident at the beginning of the week. Mondays and Tuesdays have seen office attendance increase by 12.7% and 3.0%, respectively, compared to the previous year, indicating a renewed interest in spending more time in the office. Even though office utilization remains below pre-COVID levels, Tuesday has become the busiest workday, with office visitation reaching 71.2% of pre-pandemic levels compared to June 2019. While many companies continue to mandate in-person attendance for at least part of the week, these statistics suggest that employees are concentrating their in-person workdays at the beginning of the week.
