In July 2024, Boston office properties saw increased visits on Mondays and Tuesdays compared to July 2023, with foot traffic rising by 19.4% and 3.3%, respectively. Wednesday-Friday has witnessed a decrease in foot traffic when comparing 2024 to 2023.
Boston is currently 57.9% recovered when looking at foot traffic levels Pre-COVID. The bulk of this recovery resides mid-week, indicating Monday’s and Friday’s have been the most popular work-from-home days since 2019.
Looking ahead, the recent office recovery occurring Mondays, coupled with consistent mid-week visitation recovery since 2019 positions Boston in a strong spot to see heightened office visitation Monday-Thursday in the coming years.
