Boston’s monthly public transportation ridership has rebounded by 63% compared to pre-pandemic levels

• After the outbreak of Covid-19, Boston's monthly MBTA ridership experienced a significant decline. Since January 2021, MBTA monthly ridership in Boston has been steadily recovering and approaching pre-pandemic levels.

• In the first half of 2023, Boston has witnessed a substantial resurgence in mass transit ridership compared to the same period in 2019. These commuting trends are indicative of office workers' behavior, suggesting that employees are gradually returning to their workplaces.
