AVANT's new Busyness Index enables us to monitor the resurgence of office attendance across various markets. In the DC, Northern Virginia (NOVA), and Suburban Maryland regions, there has been a consistent recovery aligned with the national trend, showing gradual growth since Q1 2021. Notably, the DC office market stands out with a notably higher return rate compared to NOVA and Suburban Maryland.

This uptick is largely driven by government sectors, followed by multi-industry complexes and law firms. Additionally, AVANT's Busyness Index highlights peak return days during the week. In the DC, NOVA, and Suburban Maryland area, Thursdays and Tuesdays show the highest percentage of employees returning to offices, reaching 67.3% and 64.7% respectively compared to pre-COVID levels.
