Sarah Cafaro is a Senior Director of Retail Sales in U.S. Capital Markets, based in Avison Young’s New York office. Sarah has over 10 years of experience in commercial real estate, specializing in the acquisition and disposition of retail investment properties including shopping center, outlet, and net lease investment sales.

In her role Sarah advises investors in ground-up development, M&A portfolio sales, asset repositioning/redevelopment, 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges, distressed sales, and lease negotiation and execution. During her career Sarah has executed over $500 million in commercial real estate transactions. She has also worked with tenants/users via site selection, expansion/reduction of regional footprints, and sourcing of development partnerships. Sarah’s understanding of the economic dynamics that cause shifts in the retail industry have been pivotal in her ability to forecast value and provide unique expertise to her clients.

Previously Sarah worked at SRS Real Estate Partners in the National Net Lease & Investment Properties Group in investment sales, loan sales advisory and tenant advisory. Prior to that she worked in the Capital Group at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in investment sales and loan sales advisory.Previously Sarah also worked in acquisitions, development and investment banking.
