Dave Brown leads Avison Young’s Specialty Leasing and sponsorship efforts for the firm’s retail portfolio. He has 30 years of retail real estate experience and a track record of building and solidifying partnerships with national and international brands.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Dave was Head of Specialty Leasing for Madison Marquette leading the specialty leasing, alternative revenue and sponsorship efforts for the firm’s owned and serviced retail portfolio. 

Previously, Dave oversaw all Specialty Leasing and Alternative Revenue programs for a top global firm. Under Dave’s leadership, the firm averaged +10% year over year specialty leasing increases at the property level. Dave also previously oversaw the Sponsorship division at General Growth Properties and increased annual revenue from $25 million to $75 million in five years. Dave led all of Specialty Leasing for their two highest profile markets – Las Vegas and Hawaii. Prior to that, Dave headed up Urban Retail Properties East Region Specialty Leasing where he started the Sponsorship Department.

Dave has extensive experience in working on flagship, mixed-use and lifestyle shopping centers and is very effective at finding ways to maximize revenue at the asset level while getting buy in from ownership and management. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Indiana University and MBA from the University of Michigan.
