Avison Young negotiates expansion for Strada Education Foundation, more than doubling its footprint with new policy hub

Washington, D.C. – Avison Young announces the successful lease renegotiation and expansion on behalf of Strada Education Foundation (Strada), at 2001 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW in DC’s Central Business District.
The Principals Jonathan Danziger and Sam Werner from Avison Young’s Washington, D.C. office represented Strada, a national nonprofit organization focused on programs and policies to strengthen the link between education and the labor force. The organization renegotiated its lease on the 11th floor and added the entire 9th floor, scaling up its footprint from 11,966 square feet (sf) to 26,597 sf within the building.
“We’re thrilled to be able to expand in a space already familiar and comfortable for our employees. Thanks to all involved in helping to secure 2001 Pennsylvania Avenue as Strada’s home in the District for years to come,” said Stephen Moret, president and CEO of Strada Education Foundation.
“It’s an exciting time for Strada, and we are pleased that our team successfully achieved their goals during such a challenging time in the commercial real estate market. Despite several years remaining on their lease, it was imperative for us to create a competitive process and ensure Strada obtained the best possible terms and concessions,” added Danziger.
2001 Pennsylvania Avenue is an 11-story, 158,000-square-foot office building located just a block away from the bustling K Street corridor.
