First CRE firm to utilize Office Benchmark product offering of comprehensive metrics on flexible work approaches

Chicago, IL – Avison Young and Flex Index today announced a partnership that will deliver a new generation of workplace benchmarks that goes beyond space metrics, allowing access to a comprehensive collective data set of policy and workplace metrics that can be sorted by industry, geography, company size, and hybrid work requirements – empowering leaders to evaluate their investments and policy decisions compared to peers. Avison Young will be the first real estate firm to partner with Flex Index on their new Office Benchmarks product to provide holistic workplace benchmarks and hybrid workforce trends.

Building on shared values of integrity, trust and collaboration, global commercial real estate advisor Avison Young will be the first in the industry to use this new benchmarking model that will enhance client advisory services including decision-making around office investment, office planning and employee experience.

“It’s exciting for Avison Young to be the first in the CRE industry to build a partnership with Flex Index, recognizing their unique and comprehensive blend of policy and workplace metrics,” said Sheila Botting, Principal and President, Americas Professional Services. “Office Benchmarks will enrich the real estate decision-making process, reflecting new ways of measuring workplaces in our hybrid world and arming Avison Young’s Professional Services team with another metric to support the portfolio needs of owners and occupiers.”

“We have seen firsthand how valuable the Flex Index policy information has been for Avison Young’s clients and we are excited that this partnership will give them access to greater information for their data-driven workplace decisions,” added Michelle Osburn, Principal and Senior Director, US Workplace Consulting. “Clients want to have full confidence that their next space will support their people and their business – Avison Young’s workplace strategy and real estate expertise combined with meaningful benchmarks delivers that preferred confidence.”

Flex Index is the leading authority on hybrid, remote, and full-time office policies for thousands of companies around the globe, enabling employers to compare their office holdings and usage to firms with similar flexible work approaches. The Avison Young/Flex Index partnership fulfils the gap of tying metrics to policy with the benchmark data on how firms are realistically using their office space.

“Hybrid work has made the job of the workplace executive much more complicated. Workplace usage metrics have become more dynamic and are heavily impacted by a company’s hybrid work policy,” said Robert Sadow, CEO & Co-Founder, Scoop & Flex Index. “We’re excited to collaborate with Avison Young to empower workplace executives with rich benchmark insights that will lead to better office investment decisions.”
