Avison Young negotiates 34,425-sf lease with Slick City Action Park on behalf of ownership in Peoria, AZ
September 19, 2023Phoenix, AZ – Avison Young announced today it has negotiated a 34,425-square-foot (sf), 10-year lease with Slick City Action Park on behalf of the ownership of Thunderbird Village, an 85,000-squre-foot (sf) retail center located on the northwest corner of 75th Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Peoria, AZ. Slick City Action Park is the new, fun-filled, action park featuring indoor slides (no water), air courts, four-level soft play, a trapeze, swing, and zip line designed for all ages. Located at 7518 W Thunderbird Road, Slick City will open its doors early 2024.
Avison Young Principals James DeCremer and Matt Milinovich who are based in the Phoenix office negotiated the deal on behalf of the landlord, ACP Management.
“Slick City Action Park will be located within the Southern portion of the former Bashas' grocery space,” said DeCremer. “They are in the process of transforming the space into a fun-filled action park with innovative, family-friendly attractions that will provide a welcome venue to the local community. There has been a post-pandemic rebound for events, entertainment and dining as people seek to spend their free time participating in unique experiential activities.”
The location will also include food and beverage options and 3,000 sf of event space perfect for birthday parties, community, and corporate events.
This Peoria site marks Slick City Actions Park’s first Arizona location and its fourth location nationwide with parks open in Denver, CO and St. Louis, MO and another opening in Katy, TX this year. Slick City is looking to add more future locations in the Valley over the coming years.
Built in 2002 and situated on approximately ten acres, Thunderbird Plaza went from 50% vacant when Basha’s vacated in 2022 to 100% occupied with the signing of Slick City, Pickle Guild (20,000 sf) which will open late 2023 or early 2024, and I Heart Mac N Cheese (1,500 sf) and Jet’s Pizza (1,800 sf) that will both open early next year. Other tenants at the center include UPS, Alera Care, and PNC Bank.
