Avison Young’s Phoenix office wraps up second annual charity golf tournament; Boys & Girls Club of the Valley this year’s recipient
December 21, 2022Phoenix, AZ – Avison Young Phoenix is happy to announce the Avison Young Open, the office’s second annual charity golf tournament, was a huge success. The event was formed to raise funds to benefit local charities in the Phoenix region. This year’s event brought in over $28,000 in proceeds, which are being donated to the Boys & Girls Club of the Valley.
Located at Papago Golf Club, the sold-out event, attended by more than 140 people, was sponsored by Thomas Title, Twin Peaks, Madison One Capital, Forward Tilt, Halo Ink, Tybor Law, CCS Facility Services, Coal Creek Consulting, Uprite Construction, Twin Peaks, Wisconsin Reclamation Project, Upward Architects, and Avison Young.
“Thank you to all our sponsoring companies, colleagues, clients, and friends who spent a gorgeous Arizona winter day with us at Papago for our second annual Avison Young Open Golf Tournament. The perfect weather and beautiful golf course made way for a competitive and enjoyable tournament – all while benefitting one of my favorite organizations, the Boys & Girls Club of the Valley. I grew up playing baseball, attending camps, open gyms, and playing other sports there. In high school and college, I served as a coach and camp counselor for the organization. The Boys and Girls Club means a lot to me, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to give back and provide additional resources to all the children and families they support," said James DeCremer, a Principal with Avison Young and organizer for the event.
David Genovese, a Principal and Managing Director for the Arizona office, added, “We are so appreciative of our sponsors, the players, Papago Golf Course, and our staff that made this event possible. The day was gorgeous, everyone had a great time, and most importantly, we were able to more than double our donation from last year’s inaugural event. We look forward to making it bigger and better next year.”
