Avison Young expands tenant representation expertise in Chicago
June 23, 2021Mark Montana and Michael Heaney bring 40 plus years of experience to the firm
Chicago, IL – Beth Phillips, Principal and Managing Director of Avison Young’s Chicago office today announced that veteran office tenant representation specialists Mark Montana and Michael Heaney have joined the firm as Senior Vice President and Vice President. They will focus on growing the occupier solutions business in the greater Chicago area.
“We are excited to have both Mark and Michael join our Avison Young Chicago team. They will play a significant role in helping clients strategically solve their commercial real estate needs to meet their business goals,” said Phillips. “Mark and Michael understand the culture, collaboration and innovative resources we offer and plan to leverage our platform in service of their clients.”
Montana brings more than 35 years of experience in commercial real estate, development, strategic planning, brokerage operations and client account management. He began his career in commercial real estate with Rubloff Inc. in 1985. Prior to Avison Young, he was the Managing Principal at Cresa. He attended Benedictine College and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He is also a Board Member for Soaring Eagle Academy.

Heaney’s experience includes representing companies of all sizes from corporate users to local not-for-profit organizations. Prior to joining Avison Young, he was a key member of Cresa’s Corporate Office Advisory Group. He began his career in commercial real estate in 2013 with JLL where he was responsible for managing real estate transactions for large corporate accounts. Heaney received his MBA in Real Estate Finance and Investment from DePaul University. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He is a licenced real estate broker in Illinois and Co-founder of the Associate Board of Ambassadors for the Great Books Foundation located in Chicago.
