Avison Young gets green light for 152 homes in Preston
February 19, 2020Avison Young’s planning team has secured approval from Preston City Council for the redevelopment of land associated with Ingol Village Golf Course, Preston, on behalf of Bellway Homes Limited (North West) to deliver 152 new homes.
The Reserved Matters planning application followed a hybrid application approved in 2016, which comprised a full application for areas of public open space, and an outline application for a new first team training facility for Preston North End Football Club and the development of up to 450 dwellings.
Bellway Homes’ proposal to create a high-quality, sustainable residential development on land at Ingol Golf Course incorporates a mixture of one, two, three and four-bed detached, semi-detached, terraced dwellings and maisonettes. As envisaged at the outline stage, the dwellings are laid out with a road running through the site north-south, with cul-de-sacs off to the east.
The site is located on the northern fringe of Preston, approximately 2.5 miles from the city centre. There are numerous shops and associated facilities located within walking distance and it is sustainably located, with easy access to public transport.
Louisa Fielden from Avison Young said: “The proposals represent one of the first residential schemes to come forward on this site, and have resulted in a sensitively designed scheme, striking a balance between conserving and enhancing the surrounding natural environment and ensuring the delivery of high quality homes in keeping with the overall aims and objectives of the Ingol Golf Course masterplan.”
The scheme has been designed by APD Architects.
